Vidyalaya runs entirely on the time and talent of our community
Every teacher, every coordinator, every board member is a volunteer. The school would not exist without the generosity of parents and community members who give their Sunday mornings to keep this mission alive. We welcome volunteers at every level of commitment.
Support teachers during Sunday language or culture classes. Help with materials, work with small groups, and assist students who need extra attention. No formal teaching experience required — a willingness to engage and a love for the language or subject is what matters.
Help organize and run Vidyalaya events — cultural programs, annual day, end-of-year celebrations, and community gatherings. Tasks include setup, logistics, coordinating students for performances, and cleanup. Perfect for parents who can't commit to every Sunday but want to contribute to the community.
Manage school finances — collect fees, process payments, maintain records, and report to the board. Requires basic bookkeeping skills and attention to detail. This is an elected board position.
Maintain school records, take meeting minutes, manage enrollment data, and handle communications. Good organizational skills and comfort with basic administrative tools are helpful. This is an elected board position.
Govern the school — set strategy, approve budgets, oversee operations, and ensure we stay true to our mission. Board members serve a one-year term (renewable) and are elected by the parent community. Active board members receive a fee waiver for enrolled children.
